Copper Bullion: Beware of “Mint Poured” or “Hand Poured” Claims

Summary: Scammers are an unfortunate reality in our world, and copper is no different. If you encounter a dealer claiming their copper bars are “mint poured” or “hand poured,” turn and run the other way (…and possibly notify your state’s financial regulatory agency). A legitimate mint will not “pour,” they only mint coins for currency or investment. Pouring is the process by which raw or recycled copper is melted down.
